Effects of Poverty

High Unemployment Rates

Children battling poverty are likely to drop out of school. By doing this, they are almost ensuring themselves no more education ever. Without that education, they would probably not get a job. The unemployment rates are already high; we don't want them even higher, do we?

Unemployment is one of the biggest effects of poverty

Crime and Terrorism

Poverty leads to abundant crime, including robberies and drug-dealing. This happens most where there are large differences in wealth. It makes it unsafe for others. Poverty also plays a bit role in terrorism, since most terrorists come from third-world countries with high unemployment rates and poverty. By becoming terrorists, they can get higher salaries.

Poverty leads to crime and terrorism
Don't let child labor and abuse happen because of poverty!

Child Labor and Abuse

Sometimes, children undergo child labor so they can help earn money for their struggling families or even just themselves. However, child labor barely supplies children with any money, but desparate times call for desparate measures. These children also lose the privilege of education, which increases unemployment rates. Are we going to let this all happen?

Insanitation and Illness

Being in poverty dramatically increases insanitation. Insanitation leads to sickness and disease. Diseases spread rapidly. You get the point, right?

Poverty is a key role in illness and low health, both of which may spread rapidly
Poverty ends up in discrimination and social tensions

Discrimination and Social Tensions

Poverty plays a big role discrimination and inequality (and they lead to poverty, too). If it becomes major, inequality could lead to social tensions that could divide a nation. It would attack the middle class and maybe someday destruct it. Then, there would be no transition between super rich and super poor. And what could that lead to? Government could be overthrown!! And let's not think about its potential effects on economy...
